Arizona’s 6th congressional district cannot afford to lose to Kirsten Engel, the presumptive Democrat party challenger to the incumbent Juan Ciscomani. The people that live within the 6th congressional district in Arizona have had to endure the chaos that has stemmed from the failing border policies of the Biden/Harris administration. Joe Biden and his appointed “Border czar” Kamala Harris might be remembered for many different things, but having the highest levels illegal immigration on record will be one of them.
Now Kirsten Engel, a former Arizona state senator who has denied that the U.S has an immigration crisis, wants to represent the communities who are on the frontline of the worst illegal immigration crisis in U.S History.
In 2021, Engel said that republicans are doing illegal immigrants a “grave disservice” by “depicting our border as a place of crisis”.
Not only is our border a place of crisis; the Tucson Border Sector has become the capital of it. In fact, Tucson has had an 82% increase in “Illegal encounters” so far this year, the most of all other border sectors according to CBP statistics.
Kirsten’s comments on the border cannot be interpreted for anything other than ignorance. What she doesn’t seem to realize is the communities that get hit the hardest are the ones that are closest to the border. Not only do these communities have to deal with the effects from increasing rates of fentanyl addiction, but they also have to contend with the dangerous drug cartel activity that comes with the distribution of these killer drugs.
Any politician who endorses the way the border crisis has been handled over the past three years is simply not paying attention to the disastrous effects of it... More importantly, any politician who doesn’t know about the border crisis should not be running to represent the communities that are on the frontline of it.
In an interview with The Herlad/Review Media, Kirsten Engel was asked what was different from the last time she ran against Rep. Juan Ciscomani. Her reply was “I think one of the biggest differences we have now in this race is my opponent now has a voting record, which he didn't have before”.
I find her comments during the interview to be extremely odd considering how Ciscomani has a voting record that reflects his willingness to defend our southern border and stand up for other issues such as ensuring the financial security of families.
Her comments on Ciscomani’s voting record seem to be void of any due diligence. Considering her previous comments on the border, it came as no surprise.
The people of Southern Arizona are smart. Many of them understand that no matter your political affiliations, the issues facing them are real and potentially dangerous. There is no room for radical politicians who support an agenda that goes against the reality on the ground. Juan Ciscomani understands that reality. The way I see it, he wasn’t voted in to push the agenda of radical “progressive” reformist who are disconnected from the people they claim to represent. Instead, he has focused on what’s really important, and that is protecting the lives of American’s and their families.
